QuickBooks Online Sync Error: Business Validation Error: Please make the parent account active first. Then you can make this sub-account active

Why the Sync Error occurs

This error occurs when a GL account is trying to sync from PayMaker to QuickBooks Online (QBO), but the selected parent account is inactive in QBO or PayMaker.

How to Fix the Sync Error

There are three options to resolve this issue:

  • Reactivate the parent account in PayMaker or QBO and sync
  • Edit the account and change the parent account in PayMaker or QBO and sync
  • Edit the account and remove the parent account in PayMaker or QBO and sync
